Paul F. Torrisi, M.D.

Paul F. Torrisi, M.D. graduated from the State University of New York, College of Medicine in Syracuse and interned at St. Joseph's Hospital. He spent one year as a resident training in Internal Medicine in Hartford, Connecticut, three years studying diseases and surgery of the eye at S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center in Syracuse and a fellowship year in diseases of the Retina and Vitreous sponsored by the Eye Research Foundation of Central New York. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Torrisi teaches medical students and Ophthalmology residents at S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center in Syracuse and is on the faculty as a Clinical Associate Professor. He is actively engaged in clinical research.

G. Robert Hampton, M.D.

G. Robert Hampton, M.D. graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and interned at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent three years studying diseases and surgery of the eye at Albany Medical Center, and one and a half years in fellowship studying retinal and vitreous diseases and surgery at Albany Medical College and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Retina Society and Vitreous Society. Prior to moving to Syracuse he was Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Albany Medical College, and is presently Clinical Associate Professor at S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center in Syracuse. He continues to write papers and is actively engaged in retinal research.

Sam C. Spalding, III, M.D.

Sam C. Spalding, III, M.D. graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine where he also served an internship in Internal Medicine. He then spent three years studying diseases and surgery of the eye at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During his third year of residency at Emory, he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Spalding remained at Emory two more years as a fellow in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous before coming to Syracuse. While at Emory, he was active in basic and clinical eye research and in teaching medical students and Ophthalmology residents. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center in Syracuse and continues to teach and to participate in clinical research. Dr. Spalding is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Bryan K. Rutledge, M.D.

Bryan K. Rutledge, M.D. is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He interned in Internal Medicine then completed a three year residency in diseases and surgery of the eye at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before coming to Syracuse, he spent two years at Tufts' New England Eye Center in Boston, training in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal disease. Dr. Rutledge also has spent three years studying basic science research, and he has co-authored numerous papers and professional publications. He remains actively engaged in clinical research and is on the faculty at S.U.N.Y Health Science Center in Syracuse where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Rutledge is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
